Brandi Hinton and Sloan Ellis are a formidable, very powerful team. At 71 years of age, my scorned girlfriend of 1 1/2 years had me arrested and charged with felony stalking. I can say the whole experience was the worst of my life, especially as there was no truth to the complaint. I was referred to Ellis Hinton, and from the first meeting with them, they listened intently to my story, put me at ease, and clearly stressed my case would never go to trial and very likely would be dismissed. On the night of my arrest, I was in front of the night judge, who ordered an ankle GPS tracking device with a one-mile exclusion zone around the "victim's" house. That meant I couldn't even go home on my release, as we lived 1/4 mile apart. That obviously caused more stress. Once Brandi and Sloan were aware, it took them a grand total of about three days to get that changed to essentially a bubble around her house. I finally got to go home. Going through the whole process, they were very professional, extremely knowledgeable, very friendly and reassuring, and always cared about my situation. I had elected to request a pretrial hearing. Brandi explained the process and told me it was very unlikely my case would be dismissed at the hearing, as the main purpose is to understand what evidence the prosecutor will present at the trial. However, Brandi was excellent and very skillful at the hearing in cross-examining the arresting officer. After a relatively short 30–40 minutes, the judge spoke and dismissed my case. I was ecstatic. I have since been told that being dismissed at a hearing is very, very rare and only exemplifies Brandi's knowledge and skill. For me, they did an outstanding job, and as far as I'm concerned, they both walk on water!
