Inside the Solicitor's Office Since 2012

Anthony McCollum has spent nearly eight years prosecuting criminal cases for the Thirteenth Circuit Solicitor's Office. As an Assistant Solicitor there, he handled thousands of cases, ranging from property crimes to white collar crimes, taking several of them to verdict.

His career inside the solicitor's office started in 2012. Shortly after graduating from The Citadel, he joined the Fifth Circuit Solicitor's Office in Columbia, first as an intern and then as a law clerk, where he worked while attending law school at the University of South Carolina. By the time he was licensed to practice, he had already spent more than five years watching the state build criminal cases and learning how things were run behind the scenes. He moved to the Upstate in 2018 and, after a short period in private practice in Greenville, joined the Thirteenth Circuit in January 2019.

Anthony comes to Ironside Criminal Defense having seen firsthand how the government and the judicial system operate. He knows the prosecutors, the investigators, and the officers who work the other side of a file, and he knows exactly how a case looks to the person deciding what to do with it. What he cares about most is what comes next for the client: understanding the charge, understanding the options, and having someone to speak for them while they work through it.

Personal Interests

Anthony lives in Greenville with his wife and their dog, Trudy. In his free time, he enjoys reading, cooking and he's an avid sports-watcher.

What happens next

You will know where you stand
before you hang up

  1. 01

    You tell us what happened

In your own words, at your own pace. We will ask questions, and some of them will be uncomfortable. Nothing you say surprises us.

  2. 02

We tell you what you are facing

What the charge actually means, how it is usually handled, and what is realistic. Including the parts you would rather not hear.

  3. 03

    You leave with a plan

What we intend to do, what we need from you, and what happens on what date. You should never be surprised by a result.

  4. 04

We start before the prosecutor does

We make the first move, so the prosecutor reviewing your file sees a person with a story rather than a name on a warrant.

On costCost is usually the first question, and we answer it before you decide anything. If your case goes to trial, our fee does not go up.

If you have been charged,
the clock is already running.
